A beautiful song that i want to share. Her voice is amazing..
Soft, yet Resonant. Light yet Powerful.
A song that evokes many emotions.
Somehow, listening to this song, along with the lyrics, makes me think about "A Child Called It". It's a autobiography about author Dave Pelzer's traumatic childhood. The abuse depicted in the book is horrid.
Deep within my memory
Where the grass grows to my knees
Where sparrows sing, and all creation speaks to me.
Where clouds rain in noonday sky
With castles, kings, and queens
Where hopes and dreams, and angels' wings are common things
A long lost child falls behind
And now she is miles and miles from the present time
And just like the birds that fly across the sky
She's been away awhile
Oh, but I will find her,
free from all guile
Beautifully wild
Long lost child

Song Covers
Second post.
This week, i shall post on various song covers. A song cover or simply cover is basically a new performance or recording of an already existing song. One of the reasons why i love music is because one song can be interpreted completely differently from one individual to another. Many songs can be incredibly versatile as they can be sung in so many ways. For example, a guy singing a song that was originally sang by a girl, a change in the music tempo of the song and revamped lyrics all make for a significant change of feeling for the listeners. Certain song covers can even be better than the original. Some performances of older songs are performed live on singing competitions that actually bring an entirely new feeling to the song.
Jessica's Sweet Delight actually has another version. Technically, this isn't a cover as its sung by the same singer, but still i thought it'd be satisfying to share this. This version focuses on the music and the beat while the original focuses on her voice and has a much lighter feel to it.
This actually feels more like a dance track than the original. This
Muse's version of Can't Take My Eyes Off You is a fantastic cover as it completely changes the song and makes it into their own. It feels like as if they wrote the song for their own band. The original was sung by Frankie Valli and there have been many, many covers. This one stands out for me.
Original by Frankie Valli:
Cover by Muse:
Sounds completely different doesn't it? Of course they will be mixed opinions, my dad said that they completely ruined his favorite song..haha, but on the other hand my friend think its better than the original.
Taeyang : Wedding Dress
Cover by Tommy C of IBU & J.Reyez
Cover by Christine Nguyen
The cover by Tommy C of IBU & J.Reyez actually completely changes the lyrics of the song and Christine Nguyen's cover also has different lyrics but is sung from a girl's perspective.
閻奕格 Janice Yan is actually Singaporean but she's based in taiwan. She was discovered through the singing competition One Million Star.
She covered Gary Cao's Mr Lonely 寂寞先生. She doesn't necessarily exceed the original but its a very different feel to the song, with different singing techniques. She manages to draw out the emotions of the song, adding her own touch to it as well.

Sweet Delight
First post. Alright. Today I'm going to be sharing a korean song. Its called "Sweet Delight" by Jessica Jung. Jessica Jung?! Yes, its Jessica from the uber popular group Girl's Generation. I'm not exactly a big fan of them, but i do love her voice. Its really unique, slightly husky yet sweet. I feel that is really showcased well in this song, even though she hasn't actually sang this song live yet(its a song for a korean food brand SPC).
Her pristine vocals are soft yet clear. A friend told me that it has a "paradise-like" feel and i have to say i agree with her. Even though, its supposed to be a dance track, its actually rather soothing, yet uplifting. Its harder to decide what genre each song is supposed to be nowadays. I feel that modern music is difficult to define. I shall leave that issue for future posts.
Stay tuned for more updates! And please leave comments!

Muse
Hey hey, Welcome to Bryan's blog! My blog will focus on music across all languages and genres. I chose music simply because i love it, "worship" it, and quite possibly cannot survive without it. Even though i don't play any instruments or sing that well, i hope to be able to compose something in the future. Which brings me back to the title of the blog.
Muse-iical is a mesh up between Musical and Muse. There are actually numerous meaning so of the term "Muse". There's the Nine Muses from greek mythology, who were sources of inspiration for artists, writers and the like. Hopefully, i will be able to find my own personal soon and start creating music!
Music can have many different meanings. One song can be interpreted, felt, and understood completely differently depending on each and every individual. I hope that through my blog, you can draw inspiration from music into your own life in your own unique way. =]
